To be eligible for lodging at Gift of Life Transplant House you must be a solid organ, bone marrow, or stem cell Mayo Clinic transplant patient. All ages of transplant patients are welcome – pediatric to adult.
Our patients are our utmost concern. It is for this reason that we require that you tour our facility before you are given overnight consideration. Tours are given Monday through Friday by appointment only. During the tour, we explain the House’s policies. If these policies are agreeable to the prospective guests, we will document the desired lodging dates and ask that the prospective guest call us the business day before arriving in Rochester. We do NOT and simply cannot extend “reservations” as the term implies. Due to the nature of our guests’ medical conditions, we cannot expect them to have firm check-out dates. Consequently, we cannot guarantee a room days in advance to an incoming guest. To gain admission into Gift of Life Transplant House, prospective guests (patients and/or caregivers, preferably both) must first take a tour of the House. Again, tours are given Monday-Friday 10am-4pm by appointment only. We request that the prospective guest call us the business day before arriving in Rochester. This is the earliest we can confirm if we will have an available room.
Gift of Life Transplant House charges a nominal $30 per night for lodging and a $40 once-per-visit for room cleaning to help us maintain a healthy environment for our immune-suppressed guests. The cleaning fee is charged on the first night. Payments may be by cash, check, traveler’s check or credit card (VISA/MasterCard/Discover)(American Express is not accepted).
